I
love the mud pits! Here, my construction equipment is hard at work. I found some
great die cast equipment at a Super Walmart that was 1/64. The dump truck in the
picture was actually in kit form and came complete with its own screwdriver.
Made by ETRL I believe. Neat!
On my big layout that I run in the summertime (30 panels), I have the MTH coal loader mounted to the side of the pit. I then fill the pit with coal. Looks very realistic! I also have a spot for the MTH Gabe and the Gilbert Cattle Pen on the larger layout.
The little blue barricades at the edge of the pit are again from one of those Tonka sets.
Here,
you can see the use of some more Tonka pieces. The delivery truck, the people
with the packages, and the small yellow barricades are all came from these toy
Tonka sets which were purchased on closeout in the toy department of a hardware
store.
The little orange pickup truck was purchased at Walmart, and actually says "Railroad Construction" on the side of it. In the background, some of my pikemaster trucked rolling stock including a Kris Models Trains Great Northern (blue car) and the Pacific Fruit Express (orange car).
