Surplus ACL - From their website - Reproduction?
ACL Reefer from the Hobby Surplus Web site. There are only two possible explanations for this. The first, is that Hobby Surplus may have obtained the artwork from Andy Kriswalus, or his heirs. The second, and perhaps more intriguing is that this car could actually be a Kris car! One story regarding the Kris production I read somewhere, is that Hobby Surplus sent 3000 shells to Andy Kriswalus to be painted. This is a known fact. The more interesting thing I read, was that 1500 of them were returned to Hobby Surplus after they were painted. I have not been able to contact anyone at Hobby Surplus as of yet, but I am sure curious about this! Are original Kris painted shells still sitting down at Hobby Surplus? I wonder... They also list on their web site an ACY car, but do not show a picture. Want to bet it looks just like a Kris car? What is going on here? If anyone knows, please email me.
